Natural Stone
Granite, Quartzite, Marble & Travertine
What is the difference between all these materials?
As stated previously, Quartz is an engineered stone. Granite and Quartzite are instead a natural stone. Since natural stone is porous, these materials need to be sealed every so often (6-12 months). You can find Quartzite and Granite utilized mainly as countertops, Marble as sills or backsplash, and Travertine as flooring and around fireplaces. Although natural stone is durable and is more heat resistant, keep in mind Quartzite specifically is a softer material. With this, there is maintenance when it comes to natural stone to be cautious of. You will find more "earthy" patterns with these type of materials.
